Beaches Memorial Park is honored to help veterans and their families understand burial, memorialization and military honors options. We can assist with coordinating the details, gathering required documentation and connecting your family with the appropriate agencies.
COMMON VETERANS BENEFITS
Depending on eligibility and the place of burial, benefits may include military funeral honors, a burial flag, a government headstone or marker, a Presidential Memorial Certificate, burial in a VA national cemetery and certain burial or transportation allowances. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs makes all eligibility determinations.
MILITARY FUNERAL HONORS
Eligible veterans may receive a ceremony that includes the folding and presentation of the United States flag and the playing of Taps. Additional honors may vary by eligibility, branch of service and available honor-guard resources.
PLANNING AHEAD
A copy of the veteran’s DD Form 214 or other discharge documents is often needed. Families may also request a VA pre-need determination of eligibility for burial in a national cemetery. Planning ahead can reduce delays and help ensure that wishes and benefits are clearly understood.
